Manitoba Public Insurance Corporation says notices were mailed to motorists on the Autopac time payment plan. The first 1987 insurance payment was due February 28 and the balance must be paid by May 30. For renewals after February 28 the second installment is due within 90 days.

RCMP Winnipeg coordinator warns 60 percent of drownings lack enough life jackets onboard. Boating laws require one approved lifejacket per person. Alcohol involvement appears in about half of boating drownings, with drinking and driving illegal on water as on roads. Exceptions exist for large boats with living quarters when docked.
