Delay grazing until mid June for better native grass yields
Manitoba expert George Bonnefoy says delaying native grass grazing until mid June raises potential yields by over 25 percent. Early grazing before June 1 limits growth to about 60 percent, with peak growth from late May to mid June. Tame forages can be grazed earlier, around May 25, to allow quick recovery.
