A weather retrospective notes May snowfalls in Manitoba from 1955 to 1979 showing multiple flurries and inches of snow many years. The record cites dates and amounts with total monthly and yearly precipitation, highlighting that May snow is common though not normal, and ends with a reminder to gardening season risk.
Editorial notes good and bad news on Manitoba medical front. Doctors threaten province-wide walkout if binding arbitration not accepted, while talks resume on this year’s fee schedule without preconditions. Ontario settled with a five year agreement after a two day doctors’ strike. Manitoba eyes a 14 percent or 35 percent target. If a quick settlement occurs, arbitration could modernize Medicare principles per Justice Hall.
