Oakburn Elementary Drama Night Highlights Local Talent
Oakburn Elementary School held a May 7 Drama Night featuring skits, Grade 1-4 choir and a Rhythm Band by Grades 1 and 2. Trophies went to Vincent Kaskin, Barbara Wayto wich, Jerry Skavinski and Karen Lucyshen for roles in Two Crooks and a Lady and KAOS Strikes Again. Gold and Silver medals awarded to Brenda Kokoradz and Barbie Nowal kowski for There’s One Born Every Minute. Gordon Bennett of Ontario won the door prize.

Couple Celebrate 50th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Alexander formerly of Vista and Rossburn Manitoba marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a gathering at their home on April 22, 1972. They wed April 18, 1922 and have two daughters Muriel and Wilma Atkinson and two grandchildren.

UCW Meeting Enjoys Talk and Slides
The May Ross burn United Church Women meeting in the Annex on May 8 featured a Miss Ruby Armstrong devotional and Mrs. Lorna Veitch message. Mrs. Myer spoke about an Austrian orphanage with slides. Rossburn Women’s Institute met May 2 at 2 30 p m in the annex with Mrs Radford presiding. They sent money to CARE and Cancer Relief and planned interior use of the Citizens Residence piano. Jackpot winners and hosts were noted. Next meeting June 6 features a Grandmothers Tea and invited all grandmothers. The report includes a poem and notes from Makaroff convention attendees.
