Well Baby Clinic Held Today in Rossburn Town Hall

All mothers of pre school children are urged to attend the Well Baby Clinic this afternoon from 1 30 to 3 30 p m in the Rossburn Town Hall basement. Health unit staff under Dr Hall will run the free clinic for residents of Rossburn Vista and surrounding areas north to the park and south to No 4 highway.

Hog Producers Competition Awards Sevenths and Placings

Mr. Harris Huston learned he placed seventh in the 1960 Hog Producers Competition and won $75. First prize went to C. J. Edwards of Stonewall, second to Irwin Shoemaker of Grandview, third to W. J. Pollock of Hamiota, fourth to Wray Bros. of Angusville, fifth to W. H. Ramsden of Killarney, sixth to E. H. Blocker of Dugald. Thirteenth went to W. Dennison of Cardale and fourteenth to W. G. Hopley of Oak River.

Regulations Setve Lots At Fish Lake

Game and Fish Executive Meeting on April 26 discussed developing leased lots within a year or forfeit lease, installing a lake telephone for emergencies, and a year long fishing contest. Rossburn Association members with the largest pickerel or pike win $5, weighed by Dave Cleland. Public damage at Fish Lake led to contacting offenders and potential prosecution.

Ukr. United Church Ladies Tea Delights Town

The Ukr. Ladies of the United Church hosted a Mother’s Day Tea on Saturday May 6 at the annex. Entertainers Lesia Chopp and Judy Huston performed accordion duets while Theresa Sawchuk played a solo. Millicent Sawchuk and D M Varmey received carnation bouquets as prizes and oldest grandmother honors, with $25 realized. The group thanks all helpers for the success.

Credit Union Board Meeting at Rossburn

The Rossburn Credit Union Board met at the Andrew residence on Monday May 8 at 8 30 p m with all members and one supervisory committee member present Three new members were approved by the Directors The treasurer reported 194 members and 83 borrowers at end of April loans outstanding totaled 42571 15 and the board decided to advertise the upcoming chapter meeting on June 1 in the local paper.

Mr. Frederickson a St. John’s College Manitoba arts student majors in History and graduates in 1961. He plans to enter Manitoba Law School in September after Naval Training Division service and commission next year. He won Klieforth Prize, Lt Morris Soronow Memorial Scholarship, and Winnipeg Life Underwriters Prize for highest arts II average. He will be in Rossburn around May 19.
