Rossburn approves local paving by law with $60,000 borrow plan
The Municipal Board approves the Village of Rossburn Local Improvement By Law to pave streets and borrow up to 60 000. Debentures are expected to be issued by July 1 1973. Maple Leaf Construction (1967) Ltd. wins the lowest tender for paving. local Peter Krewshewski wins excavating and backfilling. Construction aims to finish by July end with sewer and water connections urged. Village office accepts requests for supplementary projects and estimates.

Senior Citizens May Meetings And Golf Tournament Planned
The quilting bee is postponed to Tuesday May 15 at 1 30 p.m. in the Town Hall basement. The New Horizons Group Committee meets Wednesday May 16 at 2 00 p.m. at the Drop-In Centre. A Senior Citizens Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday May 24. Participants should leave their names at the Centre.

Farm calls reassure Russell farmers on on site veterinary service
A contingent of Russell farmers visited clinics in Shoal Lake and Roblin and found on farm service available. The Roblin Review Ag Rep notes that vets will attend farms, with a calf treated in a car and a cow to be caesareaned on site. Dr Konkin from Yorkton says 60 percent of work is done on the farm in their three man clinic. Agricultural Representative's Office invites questions or pamphlets.

Fire Destroys Marco Hall in Ukrainian Community Center
A fire last Wednesday afternoon May 2 destroyed the Marco Ukrainian Home. An uncontrolled grass fire appears to be the cause. Inside the hall valued over $300 were damaged by flames including dishes a coffee maker and Ukrainian costumes. The hall opened in 1932 as a community project.
Golfers Ready To Start League
The Inter-Club Golf League 1973 schedule lists dates from May 14 to June 18 with matchups among Shoal Lake Binscarth Rossburn Russell and times at 7 P.M. Semi finals by June 29 and finals by July 10. League officers are President Bob Jenkins and Sec Treas Chas Gilbert.
