Rossburn operation shows a healthy profit
Parkway Co operative Limited reported a net saving of 34766 at its Rossburn annual meeting on April 21 while announcing a 1985 loss of 179888 overall. Russell store closure led to 157493 of the loss with assets sold off and bad debts written off. Officials expect 1986 to return to profit. Lila Bily Frank Baptiste and Cheryl Cockerill re elected to three year terms and Lawrence Kuzenko to a one year term.

Farmland Mortgage Sale Fails To Draw Bids In Shoal Lake
In Shoal Lake the Strathclair Credit Union Ltd. saw the attempted sale of Terry Drul’s farmland proceed with no bidders as about 75 residents watched. Credit Union lawyer Paul Roy said foreclosure would follow within two months while Drul awaits a Farm Credit Corporation loan to clear the first mortgage.

Heating system upgrade eyed for Rossburn Collegiate
The Pelly Trail School Division No. 37 moves to send a letter of intent to the Public Schools Finance Board Building Projects Committee about upgrading or replacing the heating system at Rossburn Collegiate. Trustees attended the meeting except Leonard Derkach. The district closed on April 18 for K-12 inservice across grade groups and computer awareness. The RCMP Ident-a-Kid program may include Elphinstone Elementary. The board will consider additional Day Care and Nursery School facilities in Ru.
