Funeral Rites Held for Mrs Mary Kowalyk at Jackfish
Mrs Mary Kowalyk aged 96 died April 23 at her Ozerna residence after an eight year illness. Born September 21 1862 she came to Canada in 1900 homesteaded near Qakburm then moved to Ozerna. Funeral April 27 at St Anthony Church Jackfish officiated by Rev Bagsik with burial in St Anthony Cemetery. Survived by three daughters Frances Andreychuk Polka Rodnnski Carol Krysko and two sons Sam and John predeceased husband Steve. Raginski Funeral Home Oakburn arranged services.

The May meeting opened with O Canada and the Creed. Sixteen members attended as a Cancer Society letter noted a 107.10 canvass donation and a Unitarian Society note thanked for used clothing. Miss L Ferguson and Mr and Mrs A Bernie visited Brandon last week. Shirley Ferguson returned from United College exams with friends. The 34th annual Birtle Presbyterial of the United Church met in Hamiota May 1 1959. Christian Family Sunday is planned at United Church next Sunday at 12 30 with special program. Sympathy extended to Mrs Jessie Young and Mrs Sadie Young and other relatives of the late Robert Wilson. A family dinner was held by Mr and Mrs Harry Stanchuk at Russell on Sunday. Relatives from Winnipeg and Rossburn attended gatherings in Angusville and Russell over the weekend. Mr Murray Sidoryk plans Winnipeg trip Wednesday. Mr and Mrs Al McDonald move to Vancouver BC. Stella Sidoryk is his spouse. Miss Joyce Sirnick of Yorkton returned home for Ukr Easter weekend.
