Rossburn Village Council debates Develop Corp and library loans

The Rossburn village council met March 13 and reconvened March 17 to review Parkland Development Corporation functions, library addition grant, youth employment, and Manitoba Hydro appointments. They deferred a Develop Corp membership decision, approved bylaw readings, approved extra garbage fees, and sought a local dentist.

National Park Fees Rise for Recreation and Camping

Parks Canada announces higher recreation fees for most national parks starting April 1 1980 to cover rising operating costs and align with private sector rates. Daily camping fees increase for various campsite types while unserviced areas stay at 3.00. Seasonal Riding Mountain camping set at 97.00 with vehicle entrance fees unchanged and seniors still receive free annual permits. Golf and marina fees also rise with nine hole golf at 6.75.

Canadians Capture Seagram Mixed Curling Title in Newfoundland

The Manitoba rink led by Jim Dunstone defeated Prince Edward Island in a final extra end to win the Canadian Seagram Mixed Curling Championship at St John Newfoundland on Sunday.
