Rossburn Minor Hockey Wind-Up Celebrates 1979 80 Season
The Rossburn Minor Hockey Association held its annual wind-up at the Rossburn Town Hall basement on March 27 1980 with about 175 players parents and guests. M C Nelson Luhowy praised the year while presenting 8 and under 10 and 12 and under and 16 and under teams with trophies medallions and M V P awards. The event featured trophies for power skating teachers and coaches plus gratitude to families sponsors and local clubs and reported a season balance of $925.95.

Otto and Emma Elvers retire after 25 years in Rossburn and sell their vehicle licences and insurance office to Willis and Mildred Stitt who take over on April 1 1980. The Elvers plan to reside in Rossburn and thank patrons for their support while wishing the new owners success.

Province to assume policing costs for small towns
Attorney General Gerry Mercier announced that Manitoba will take direct responsibility for RCMP policing costs in all incorporated towns and villages with populations under 750, up from under 500.
