Vista Ice Carnival Crowned Linda Young Queen
Linda Young was crowned Queen at the Vista Carnival on March 19. Adele Belinsky and Joyce Kosteski served as princesses. The event produced a profit of 170 dollars thanks to participants and supporters. Winners included Debra Baker and F L Slimmons among others. many costumes earned prizes for preschoolers. A hot lunch followed the program served by the Women’s Institute.

Swimming Awards For 1964 Red Cross Classes at Fishing Lake
The Rossburn Game & Fish Association will mail awards to 1964 Red Cross Water Safety participants. Recipients include Beginners Morgan Taylor through Randy Kormylo, Juniors Jerry Maryniuk to Marianne Derkach, Intermediates Billy Miller and Donna Starenky, Seniors Ronnie Major to Don Ament and Jerry Yaskiw. About 65 attend annually. classes return for the last two weeks in July.

Scout Notes from Rossburn Troop March Meeting Report
The 1st Rossburn Boy Scout Troop held its regular meeting on March 17 with ham radio theory work. Field Executive G. Milles inspected the troop and science badges as exams disrupt activity. no meeting will occur until March 31 due to high school exams.

Livestock Producers Bus Tour Through Manitoba and Western U S
A chartered Grey Goose bus carried 30 Manitoba producers on a multi state tour from Brandon to North Dakota Montana Saskatchewan and Manitoba with stops at Empire Ranch Towner Lyle Witham Charlais operations Velva Joe Fieste Gohens and others. The group met with ranchers, visited feed lots and nurseries, learned about cattle cross breeding and bedding costs, and ended with a Brandon supper after a 11 hour travel stretch.

Snake Creek Hockey League Wind-up at Foxwarren Arena
The Snake Creek League closed its hockey season in Foxwarren Arena on March 20 with twelve and under teams, Bantam and Juvenile finals. St Lazare defeated Birtle 4 1 to win the T E Dupont Trophy, while Russell beat Angussville 5 4 in overtime for the Fouillard Implement Exchange Trophy. Individual awards included Robin Hood Trophy winner Terry Fingas and several league token recipients.

Accordian Students Earn Top Marks At Kent College
Patsy Moffat led Grade 2 with 80 percent earning a 1st Class Honor Certificate. Brenda Baubie, second high, received Distinction for 90 percent. Audrey Nychek and Diane Kuzenko also earned 1st class honors in preliminary grades. Dennis Kuzenko was Grade 1 runner up with 84 percent. The recital in June will feature these pupils under instructor Mrs. G J. Wifel of Dauphin.
