Rossburn Students Sweep Western Manitoba Science Fair Awards
Rossburn Elementary led 39 competitors at the Western Manitoba Science Fair on March 14 winning first prize in Grade 7-9 environment and multiple seconds and fourths across divisions. The Reach For The Top team, Perry Brown, Morley Kostecki, Darcy Yaskiw, Janean Johnston, and Laura Mitchell, reached the finals but lost. Their team beat Turtle Mountain and Brandon school divisions before falling to Souris Valley in the semi finals, with chaperones Marion Antonin Hryciuk and Mitchell aiding the effort.

Angusville 8 and Under Win Snake Creek League Trophy
The Angusville 8 and under hockey team of eight boys defeated Roblin 2 to 1 in the Snake Creek League final at Foxwarren on March 15 to claim the league trophy. The minor hockey meeting closed March 17 with books closed until fall.

On the way home they visited Arthur Pritchard Campbell River BC and Wayne Devon family Cochrane Rita. Sheldon Brown and girls of Cranberry Portage are visiting Charlie Brown and Calvin Brown.

The Rossburn Venturer Co. hosted a ten team broomball tournament with nine games completed in under nine hours. Teams included Winnipeg Foxwarren Rossburn Lions Club and two Rossburn Collegiate squads among others. Lions Club Hosts Successful Annual Ice Carnival
Rossburn Lions Clubs Mini Carnival on Sunday March 9 drew a large crowd after a varied program. The Figure Skating Club presented its annual Don LondonBridge themed show choreographed by Kathy Michalchuk and Laurie Aylwin.:Noreen Swintak was crowned Carnival Queen with Princess Shelley Koleski. both received bouquets and gifts from Lions Club. Ticket draws named winners from Dauphin Birdtail Vista and others. Events included four Nail Pounding contests, multiple Log Sawing heats, a Grocery Scramble, and Children’s Races with multiple age groups. trophy winners listed. Also on the program were Linament League hockey results Grandview over Rossburn and Foxwarren over Hamiota in 16 and Under play.
