The U C Y Bonspiel at Oakburn Curling Rink on March 11 and 12 drew 64 members in 16 rinks from Russell Angusville Rossburn Shoal Lake and Oakburn. Eight rinks won prizes donated by Oakburn U C Y Club with first prizes going to Marie Ewanyshyn and Walter Shwaluk in separate events.

Funeral Monday for George Shaw
George Shaw age 67 died March ith in Lamont Alta Hospital after an illness of 14 years. Funeral Monday at 2 30 p m Rossburn United Church with burial in Rossburn Cemetery. Survivors include wife Mabel four sons and three daughters. Born Feb 9 1893 he worked at Spearman's Flour Mill and farmed near Vista. He and his wife ran Valhalla Nursing Home in Toronto before moving to Elk Island Park Alta in 1959.
