Funeral Rites for Mrs Doubleday Held in Shoal Lake
Funeral services were conducted March 19 at Shoal Lake Westminster United Church for Janet Agnes Doubleday 72 who died March 16 at home. Dr Parker led. interment at Argyle Cemetery. Pallbearers named. she leaves husband John Richard and six children plus many siblings and grandchildren.

Alexander Oryniak 77 of Transcona died March 11 1960 after a short illness at Selkirk Infirmary Funeral services were at Cook's Chapel Transcona with Rev D Shevchuk officiating Interment in Transcona Cemetery Pallbearers named He came to Rossburn area from Ukraine in 1905 and married Sophia Kozun in 1907 Survived by wife three sons and five daughters with 24 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Net proceeds reached 107.75 with Rossburn aiming for 450.00 as the bingo provides a strong boost toward the goal. Dozens of donated prizes from the Red Cross and local donors were awarded including ironing board covers, kitchen sets, thermos bottles, hampers, and cash prizes to residents such as Mrs. M McDonald Theresa Perchaluk Sterling Palmer Penny McKnight John Ryszytylo Mrs Wm Sheremata Mrs M Smyeniuk and others.
