Mitchelson invites grants for Manitoba Community Places
Culture Minister Bonnie Mitchelson urges Manitoba non profit groups to apply for grants under the Community Places Program for 1989 90. Applications are due December 1 with initial review in April and spring project timing requiring March 31 submissions. Grants cover up to 50 percent of eligible costs to 75000 with sponsors providing the rest. Last year about 8.5 million in lottery funds supported 462 projects across sports cultural and community facilities. Open house on hazardous waste management proposal draws crowd
About 500 residents attended the Manitoba Hazardous Waste Management Corporation open house on March 8 to speak with MHWMC representatives and council members about a potential regional hazardous waste system. Questionnaires were distributed and results will be published next week.
