Pelly Trail Receives Paraprofessional Grant
Education Minister Keith Cosens announced grants totaling 135 406 to 13 divisions to cover native teacher aides costs for fall term 1980. The program, a federal provincial joint effort, funds 65 percent by the federal department and 35 percent by Manitoba. Pelly Trail School Division will get 8 047 dollars.

Dauphin Girl Tammy Brings Easter Seals Campaign
Brenda Prentice a 12 year old from Dauphin Manitoba is named 1981 Easter Seal recipient. She has cerebral palsy and uses a walker or wheelchair but remains active. Brenda urges donations to Easter Seals to aid other handicapped youths and will assist with the campaign from March 22 to April 19 across Manitoba in areas not served by United Way participants.

Warren team wins a Provincial title
The M.A.H.A. Provincial Pee Wee D Playoffs at Rossburn saw Warren, Rossburn, and Ile Des Chenes compete in a round robin on March 7 and 8. Warren defeated Rossburn 7-4 and beat Ile Des Chenes 6 6 in a tie before edging Rossburn 8-2 and defeating Ile Des Chenes 4-2 to reach the final, where Warren topped Ile Des Chenes 5-1 for the title.
