McIsaac to resign as Pelly Trail superintendent
Russell staff report that Doug McIsaac will resign as superintendent of the Pelly Trail School Division effective December 31. The board accepted the resignation March 9 with regret. McIsaac cited personal commitments and expansion of his business as factors and noted no conflict with the board. He has led the division for nine years.

Elk Population Stabilizing in Riding Mountain Study
Environment Canada researchers report elk, moose, and white tailed deer in Riding Mountain National Park show elk not endangered and stabilizing at a normal rate. The four year study, begun in 1976 by Parks Canada and the Canadian Wildlife Service, examined habitat use and impacts of logging, fires, and beaver dams on large mammals.
