R C I Team Triumphs at Manitoba Junior High Debate
Rossburn Collegiate led by Elaine Tanasychuk and Cathy Antonin won top honours in the team section at Portage la Prairie, with Elaine Tanasychuk placing second in the individual event. Five Rossburn teams competed against nearly 100 provincial squads from across Manitoba. This marked Rossburn’s debut in the contest, with coach Jerry Samuels and chaperone Janet Dowhan accompanying the group.

Five communities in the Parkland Region host a badminton workshop series from March 12 to March 18 led by Rick Frost of the Manitoba Badminton Association. Pelly Trail Community Schools Programs in Jeopardy
The Pelly Trail School Board learned the Community Schools Program may not continue as the Agriculture Department did not budget funds this year. Despite positive evaluations and strong community support, the board awaits potential funding from Education or Tourism departments. Without government support, the project will end in April.

North Western Marquette Festival Closing Date for Entries
The closing date for entries for the North Western Marquette Festival is this Friday March 1h and must be received by Mrs R Burton Binscarth on official entry forms only. Parkland Tourism group forms interim board in 1973
The Interim Board of Directors and Steering Committee of the Parkland Tourist and Convention Association met at the Rossburn Municipal Office on March 5 1973 to draft a constitution and plan the first annual meeting in Dauphin on March 19 1973. A Nominating Committee was set to report and provincial grants were expected to promote regional tourism. Members were urged to join by contacting Peter Matyshyn at the Municipal Office.
