School planning session sets future priorities for PEI division
The board and district officials held a one day planning session on Monday February 19 to map future priorities. They praised strengths such as well equipped schools and experienced staff while outlining needs like stronger public relations and increased academic expectations. Plans for follow up and budget integration were noted. The report also recalls historical events: Prince Edward Island opened its first legislature on March 5 1974 following Canada’s entry. Manitoba faced severe blizzards in 1882. Toronto established a free public library on March 6 1884. Nova Scotia coal miners struck in 1923.
