New chairman named for Manitoba Hazardous Waste Board
Don Vernon was named chair of the Manitoba Hazardous Waste Management Corporation replacing retiring founder Nick Carter. New board members Tom Edwards of Neepawa and Shannon Burchard of Arborg join, with Dr Art Chow of Winnipeg reappointed. Glen Cummings said the board guides planning of a province wide hazardous waste system and facilities emphasizing environmental public acceptance and sustainable development.
