The Roseburn Review issued every Thursday at the office on Victoria Ave. Rosburn H. J. Bowley, publisher. Authorized as second class mail at Ottawa post office. In Canada $200 per year, U.S.A. $2.50 per year. Cards of danas not exceeding seven lines cost 30 cents.
Reminiscences recount how William and Robert Taylor left Ontario in 1879 to homestead near Rossburn Manitoba after long travels via Chicago St Paul Winnipeg and Portage la Prairie. The narrative covers their journey through frozen waterways, initial squatters’ huts, and the harsh first winter before establishing homesteads and family ties in the Bird Tail region.
Mr and Mrs Joe Chuchmuch left for Prince George on Feb 21st due to the serious illness of his mother-in-law. Mrs Sara Angus of Russell is visiting her son in law and daughter.
Local notices report moves including C Menzies returning from a two month BC vacation and Gordon Bell transferring to Rossburn after a Bank of Toronto posting. Auction and sale notices cover farmstock implements and household goods, while community events feature a carnival queen crowning at the Rossburn rink and a March 12 agricultural society meeting.
Mr and Mrs Walter Pawluk arrived from Winnipeg to stay here for a while. Fred Kohneh has taken over Mr Alex Sawchuk's store. Mrs Steve Baydock visiting relatives at Silver Beach. Walter Maydanwk caught an Elk in his hay pen and kept it in the barn after dogs chased it away. Farewell for Mr and Mrs Alex Sawchuk at Ukr Nat Home with gifts bought by funds raised. John Dangvluth received a sawmill and plans operation next week. Alex Sawchuk and family moved to Rosshurn. Spring lot hauling to sawmills underway.
