The Rossburn Agricultural Society met on Tuesday June 14 with 14 present. They adopted minutes from May 2 and May 16. The society announced job placements for Careerstart and Summer Canada programs totaling three students for 7 to 10 weeks. United Grain Growers projects Western Canada to seed a record 32.5 million acres of wheat in 1983 up 5.8 percent from 1982. Red spring wheat at 28.9 million acres rises 7.2 percent, durum seeds 3.6 million down 4.1 percent, canola up 33.4 percent to 5.7 million, oats 3.7 million down 4.6, flaxseed 1.4 million down 12.6, rye 0.91 million down 6.6, barley 10.8 million down 12.1, and summerfallow 22.3 million acres down 2.9.
