Pelly Trail School Board Adopts Staff Changes and Plans

The Pelly Trail School Division Board met on June 19 1974 and accepted resignations from Sadie Zit aruk and Gladys Schaak. They announced new hires for September and appointed principals at Binscarth and Rossburn Elementary Schools. The board discussed MT S meeting, student accident insurance, early dismissal, and the Royal Assent Bill 36 enabling indemnity trustees. Bus routes were opened for tender, with next meeting set for July 3 1974.

Angusville Senior Citizens announce summer film night

The Angusville Senior Citizens invite members to the Municipal Office basement on Sunday June 30 at 8:00 p.m. A film will be shown and Dan Sabeski will recount the Ottawa trip with eight Manitobans among participants from across Canada. Coffee will be served and all are welcome.

Angusville Students Embark on Winnipeg Excursion

Eleven Grade 7 and 8 students from Angusville depart Friday June 21 for a three day Winnipeg trip with teacher Mr A Hrytsak and chaperones Mrs L Olynyk Mrs A Senko and Mrs N Salyn plus bus driver Mr A Bidochka. They visit Planetarium Parliament Building Art Gallery Zoo and more including a River Boat cruise then swim and wiener roast at Minnedosa Beach before returning tired but happy.

Medical Coverage Announced for Rossburn District

The Rossburn District Hospital board announces Dr. R. M. Smith and Dr. M. J. O Sullivan will provide medical coverage for Rossburn and district starting Thursday June 27. Office hours are every Tuesday and Thursday at 3 30 p.m. Appointments via 859 2413 and 859 2469. When a third doctor is available hours may be reviewed and increased.

The Rossburn Grade 8 class reports a well behaved trip with chaperones, visits to Harte Mountain Inland cement plant and Winnipegosis Lake, camping at Overflow Government Campground, fishing prizes won by Mervin and Stan S, interfaith service, evening activities, and camp rituals. Travel continued to Cranberry Portage and Payuk Lake with fishing, games, and a late lights out.

Strathclair Museum Set For Grand Opening July 6

The Strathclair Museum Association announces the grand opening to be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in a restored CPR Station. A beef barbecue at Community Arena follows at 6:00 p.m. with a community band Minstrel Show of limericks and a period costumes fashion show. The station dates from the Bradenbury subdivision, used until 1971 and moved in 1972. the former St George's Anglican Church will be moved beside the station for the opening. Restoration was funded by an O.F.Y. grant.
