Elphinstone Girls win the Assiniboine Region Fastball Championship in Souris with coach Walter Kililwnik as they defeat Killarney in the final. Josie Nowalkowski of Elphinstone named Girls MVP after victories over Treherne and Rivers. Virden won the boys title with Clayton Wood pitching all three games and earning MVP honors.

Weather Update on Temperatures and Frost in Manitoba Valleys
Warm summer conditions dominate with excellent growing weather. Light frost appeared last week in Birdtail Valley and scattered frost reports came from areas south of Rossburn. In Rossburn minimums did not approach frost except in low lying gardens under 40 degrees.
