Taylor Named School Inspectorship in Education Dept
J. M. Maxwell Taylor with 18 years in teaching was appointed an inspector of schools for the Department of Education and will begin duties in August. A Rossburn native, he studied at Manitoba Normal School and earned BA and BEd degrees in 1963. He has been assistant principal at Midland Collegiate Carman and previously principal at Sperling. He and Mrs. Taylor have three sons Jim Don and Craig.

Piano Recital in Oakburn Presented by Mrs Burnett Pupils
A goodly crowd attended the June 3 piano recital in the Oakburn Elementary School Auditorium featuring piano solos by many pupils including Ma Polos Theresa Nowosad Barbara Ditz Audrey Prokopchuk Josie Nowalkowski Patsy Nowalkowski and others. Duets were performed by Yarish Michalyshyn Maliation Matiowski Waytowich Peech and Olia Peech. Recitations organ and accordion pieces accompanied songs by Grade 1 and 2 classes with guests Gorawn and Don Irwin. Mrs Burnett received a corsage and a gift cup while she and Mrs Varish were thanked for organizing the program.

Local Hospital Auxiliary Meeting
The May auxiliary meeting opened with the Auxiliary Prayer. Minutes were read and adopted. The financial report showed $249.97 in the bank and Smorgasbord profit of $188.58. The Hospital Board will contribute $450 for a Positive Pressure Breathing Machine and $20 for slippers. Guest speaker shared a trip to Scotland. Next meeting is June 22 at Mrs Slon's lakeside cottage.

Silver Wedding Anniversary Celebrated At Ukr National Hall
A surprise Silver Wedding Anniversary party was held at the Ukr National Hall on Saturday May 22 for Mr. and Mrs. John Koscielny. Thirty two couples attended a supper, with a three tier cake for the 25 year couple. Attendants included Mr. Peter Yanchyski and Mrs. Linda Bilecky. The toast was proposed by Mr. Mike E Antonin. responses followed. The couple received silverware and chest service for 12 and a utility set from their children and relatives. Proceeds will fund a coal and wood annex. Their son Sign could not attend. other children were present.
