A June 7 1978 morning program at Rossburn Collegiate Gymnasium opened with a pipe ceremony by Paul Huntinghawk and Eva McKay guiding procedures. Leaders spoke on band management misconceptions arts and survival techniques. Native dancers from Pipestone and Waywayseecappo performed Grand Entry Inter tribal Grass Dance and Women’s dances.

Federal provincial deal hikes waterfowl crop compensation
Provinces and the federal government reached an agreement to raise migratory waterfowl crop damage compensation from 25 to 50 dollars per acre. Costs will be shared equally, with remaining details to be finalized. Minister Ken MacMaster announced the move.
