Bicycle Rodeo Teaches Road Rules At Rossburn School
On June 4 1979 Rossburn Elementary hosted a bicycle rodeo sponsored by the Rossburn RCMP detachment and Pelly Trail School Division. About 300 students from kindergarten to grade 8 competed in 7 tests totaling 100 points with 34 prizes for top boy and girl per classroom and overall top boy and girl trophies donated by local banks and businesses.

Pedestrian Fatality Near Rossburn In June Accident
Jackie Jandrew a 29 year old resident of the Lizard Point Indian Reserve died in a motor vehicle pedestrian collision on PTH 45 about five miles northwest of Rossburn. The accident happened around 12 05 a m Saturday June 2.

Successful Bike-a-thon At Rossburn 10 Mile Loop
On June 4th the 3rd Annual Bikeathon drew 20 riders from the Rossburn Figure Skating Club. The route ran north to Rossman Lake road to Henry Rubeniuk’s yard for snacks, then returned to the Elementary School for a ten mile ride. Winners will be announced after pledge sheets are collected.

Heart Alert educates on emergency cardiac care program
Heart Alert teaches recognition of heart attack signals and survival actions and trains CPR for hospital and community responders. Sponsored by the Manitoba Heart Foundation, it starts in Rossburn to train nursing, ambulance and fire personnel and will expand to others. Instructors volunteer locally.

The Rossburn Collegiate prom on May 26 featured a decorated gym, music by Dancin Machine, and an award ceremony. Prizes went to top academics in each grade, with O.E. honors to Glen chuk and Joanne Tanner, plus awards for most improved student. Prom King Sheldon Kokoradz and Queen Sandra Buternowsky were chosen. lunch concluded the event.

Rural Rossburn council reconvenes to pass multiple motions
The Rural Municipality of Rossburn held a May 14 meeting with Reeve John Mitchell and three councillors present, reconvening May 25 due to length.
