The Manitoba Hospital Services Plan raises premiums due to hospital operating cost increases. Since the plan started on July 1 1958 the total cost of hospital services has risen by 160 percent while premiums remained unchanged. The new rates fund hospital operations and help maintain the system's progress and service quality.
