Funeral services conducted at Buidal's for Milton McCauley 67 of 653 Beaverly St Winnipeg who died May 24 after farming in Foyle district. Survived by May his widow two sons Glen and Lorne two daughters Mrs Wilmer Watton and Mrs Reg Young eight grandchildren and other relatives. Burial at Brookside cemetery.
Mrs D Cleland a WJ convention delegate in Winnipeg returned home last Sunday. Robert Maxwell visited by sister Mrs E Bowcott and her twins and Loraine and Danny Pearson of Winnipeg spent the weekend with the Maxwells. Mr and Mrs Douglas Davidson of Saltcoats were visiting the district last week. Netta Andrew of Winnipeg spent the weekend with her parents, Mr and Mrs Alex Andrew.
A call to unite disparate groups into a single Rossburn Community Council to coordinate efforts for rest rooms parks playgrounds recreation fields skating and more. The Board of Trade promotes a federation representing town and rural groups while preserving their identities.
Ruth Rick and Weldon McIntosh wed at 3 p m on May 31 in Oakburn with Rev. Murray uniting them. Bride Ruth Black is the daughter of J D Black and Mrs Black of Oakburn. groom Weldon McIntosh is son of Howard and Mrs McIntosh of Rossburn. The couple will reside in Rossburn after a short honeymoon.
Community events include a Strawberry Social at Nicks Cafe sponsored by Rossburn Ukr. Ladies Aid on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. The annual Red Cross meeting is set for Monday at 9 p.m. in Clap Noom. Various visits and local outings are noted along with Safety Week, Father’s Day plans, and a birthday gathering for Mrs. Woods.
