The article recalls 1880s Rossburn settlers arriving by steamboat at Fort Ellice, led by George Manson and others. The Wartime Prices and Trade Board announced a 50 cent per keg increase in nail prices at the manufacturer level effective May 20. The rise was authorized to offset higher keg costs and raw material expenses and to divert more steel to nail production as unusual quantities of materials are being used.
