Westman Mediation Services Awarded $10000 Grant

The Westman Mediation Services program will receive a one time ten thousand dollar grant to continue offering an alternative to court for first time offenders in minor offences. Justice Minister Rosemary Vodrey announced the grant funded by the Crime Prevention Fund to support community based crime prevention.

Walk-A-Thon a success at Rossburn Health Centre event

The Rossburn District Health Centre Auxiliary held a May 28 meeting with 15 members and welcomed Mildred Leschasin as new Meals On Wheels driver. They announced donations and pledges from Joyce Kristalovich and Milton Tanner, and funded an Ambulist Chair for the hospital. A $1,000 chair fund for the doctor's office was approved. The next meeting is June 17 at Kopper Kettle with a nominating committee elected for the new year.
