The Mothers Day Concert in Menzie Ukrainian National Home on May 15 featured songs Ukrainian dancing and recitations directed by Mae Chwaluk with Mae Chwaluk giving remarks on the task of motherhood. Myrtle Drul named mother of the day as donations of $10.00 were sent to the Ukrainian Museum in Saskatoon after expenses.
The Angusville Cardinals start Manitoba Senior Baseball League play with a 2:00 p.m. Sunday game at Neepawa on June 5. Johnny Parabee aims to bring in American players Pat McGhie and Rick Acres for the contest as part of a hopeful season for district fans. The schedule lists multiple intercity games from June 5 to June 11, including Grandview, Riverside, Souris, Dauphin, Hamiota, Binscarth, McAuley, Virden, and Brandon matchups.
The Youth Secretariat High School Student Job Centre in Russell, Manitoba, led by Barb Sanderson and Fran Telford, registers employers and places students in summer jobs. The program supports farming and domestic labor roles and offers toll free government information.
