The Rossburn and District Fire Department responded Tuesday May 25 at 10 15 a m to a car fire in front of Rossburn Collegiate. A student’s vehicle was heavily damaged with the blaze tracing to the firewall and suspected wiring or fuel system failure.
At the Rossburn council meeting Mayor Shirley Kalyniuk reported the Elderly Abuse Seminar organized by the Rossburn and District Seniors Helpers was cancelled due to lack of interest. Other items covered included housing concerns at Lions Manor, calls for greater community involvement in drug and alcohol programs, tourism steering for Parkland, and budget actions and service proposals affecting health care, landfill testing, and municipal memberships.
Finance Minister Clayton Manness announced Manitoba Builder Bonds will offer six per cent interest for a five year term with monthly options and a guaranteed minimum five year rate. Sales run until June 12 through Manitoba financial institutions and dealers.
