Rossburn Town Council approves park project and permits
The Village of Rossburn held a July 20 1965 council meeting. The electors list was revised for 1965 and building permits for John Sydor William Wladyka and Mike Buchlaschuk were approved. The park site development by the village well was authorized as a Centennial Project with future grant applications planned. The June financial and constable reports were adopted and bills totaling 3430.88 approved for payment. Meeting adjourned to August 17 1965.

Appointment for C L Shuttleworth to Grain Board
Ottawa July 15 1965 Agricultural Minister Harry Hays announced the appointment of Charles Lemington Shuttleworth Winnipeg to the Board of Grain Commissioners. Shuttleworth runs a Minnedosa Manitoba grain farm and has held Manitoba Legislature seats 1949 to 1959 serving as Public Utilities Minister 1953 to 1956 and Agriculture Minister 1956 to 1958. He was born in Minnedosa in 1910 and has long farm and municipal leadership including reeve of Odanah Rural Municipality in 1947. He is married with two children.

A severe hail storm last Friday formed northwest of Rossburn and moved southeast, damaging crops for several miles south of Vista and Oakburn. In Rossburn 1.17 inches of moisture was recorded, with gardens and home siding also damaged as crops suffered heavy losses along the storm path.
