Community Farewell for Fred and Elsie Hodgkinson
A Rossburn farewell for Mr and Mrs Fred Hodgkinson was held July 15 at the town hall with about 100 attendees. The event featured a home town newspaper film, strong musical items by the Binscarth Band and several duets. Final remarks praised Fred’s community work, a chair and lamp were presented, and guests sang Auld Lang Syne before lunch and another film.

Ivan Ward McFadyen died Sunday July 18 at Rossburn at age 58. Funeral from Shoal Lake Baptist Church on July 20 at 2 30 p m with burial in Shoal Lake Cemetery. Survived by wife Vina two brothers Henry Stewart four sisters Grace Jennie Ethel Rena.

A wedding was solemnized on Wednesday July 14 at 10 45 am at Rossburn Greek Catholic Church. Anne Maryniuk daughter of Mr and Mrs Alex Maryniuk Rossburn married John Antoniw son of Mr and Mrs Andrew Antoniw Rossburn with Rev Father Olenyk officiating. About 75 guests attended the wedding supper and around 300 the reception at Rossburn Town Hall. The couple will reside on the Antoniw farm.
