Village Council Holds Routine Meeting at Rossburn
The Village of Rossburn council met July 16 1962 in the council chambers with Mayor J G Stitt and four councillors present. They approved minutes and June financials, named Frank Butler as arbitrator for a land transfer petition, planned notices in The Rossburn Review, sought a 60 percent grant from Public Works for road work along P T H 45 east of the theatre, passed bills totaling 941.16, and set August 21 1962 for Court of Revision and the following meeting.

Golden Wedding Anniversary for R Campbell Couple
Mr and Mrs R Campbell of North Battleford celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary at their son Ronalds home on June 26. They were married in Vista in 1912 by Rev Ashcroft. The couple have three sons Douglas Rabbit Lake Mervin Calgary and Ronald North Battleford. They received many telegrams from Hon W S Lieyd Lieut Gov Bastedo and Prime Minister Diefenbaker and gifts including a TV.

4 H Sewing Club Attends 4 H Rally and County Events
The 4 H Sewing Girls and three leaders joined the 4 H Inter Rally at Brandon on July 2. A Br personal growth is noted with entries in parade blue ribbon results, project prizes, and demonstration wins. Beef and swine judging placings by members are listed. Camp attendance included farm boys.

A severe thunderstorm doused Rossburn with 1.16 inches of rain and hail. Run-off crossed Highway 45 three miles east. Rainfall this week reached 1.71 inches and the season total to 10.79 inches. Cool temperatures tempered hopes for a lakeside weekend.

Funeral Rites For Mrs. Maria Chaytor in Angusville United Church
Mrs. Maria Chaytor died June 28 at Grey Nuns Hospital Regina. Funeral June 30 in Angusville United Church with interment in Silver Creek Cemetery. Survived by four sons Adam John William, daughter Elizabeth Blight. sister Elizabeth Ackroyd. grandchildren Arthur and William Blight. granddaughters Betty and Mavis. great grandson and two great granddaughters. Out-of-town mourners included Regina Winnipeg Russell Moose Jaw and others.

Pastor to Swim Clear Lake Marathon Crossing
Pastor Fredriksson of Erickson Manitoba plans an across the lake swim on August 15. He will start at the east golf course and finish at the starting point covering 18 1/2 miles. Last summer he completed the 9 3/10 mile crossing, first man to conquer the lake’s cold water with Lions Club Erickson sponsoring.

Rossburn Fair Draws Crowd Amid Mild Weather
The 53rd annual Rossburn Fair held Tuesday saw attendance and entries similar to last year with good weather. Highlights included a fine exhibition of flowers and garden produce in the Display Building, plus senior ball tournament results and numerous horticulture classifications led by Mrs. S Brown and others.

Robert MacKinnon aged 59 years 11 months died suddenly at Shoal Lake Hospital on Sunday July 8. Born on his parents farm in the Vista district in 1902 he lived there his life. Survived by brother Allister and sister Mary. Funeral at family residence July 10 at 2 p.m. Interment in Argyle cemetery. Rev. Walter Donovan officiated. Pallbearers listed.
