At about 7 20 a m on Highway 45 Birdtail a car collision occurred with a CNR diesel engine heading south The driver Stan Maryniuk Inglis in a 1960 Pontiac faced extensive damage and the car is at Slow's Garage Lot He was taken to Rossburn Hospital in fair condition RCMP attended the scene The train crew extinguished a fire around the car engine

An afternoon tea at Wesley Williamsons home honors Mrs. Geo Williamson of Rossburn on her 96th birthday. Born July 19, 1866 in Perth Ontario, she moved to Manitoba in 1892 as an evangelist. She married George Williamson in Hamio ta in 1897 and has two sons, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Mrs Nastasia Snitynsky died suddenly at St BoniFace Hospital on Monday July Sth aged 66. She came to Canada in 1904 with parents Boychuk and later married three times, lastly to Mike Snitynsky of Russell and Angusville. Survived by six daughters, three sons, 27 grandchildren, two brothers, prayers held at Ukrainian National Home, funeral at Greek Catholic Church in Angusville with interment there. Pool Elevator Delegates Meet At Erickson July 23
A special M.P.E. District No. 7 meeting at Erickson on July 23 drew 14 of 15 pool elevator associations. Harris Huston was elected chairman with John M. Nowosad as secretary. Poloway outlined progress toward a Meat Packing Industry and noted profits after including other factors. Provincial Director C. Hunt reported Packers cost $180,000 for land and $282,000 in new machinery, with a new Packing House planned. Three plant options were discussed, leaning to a $1.2 million new plant. financing may come from debentures or the Provincial Industrial Development Bank. A final decision is set for August 7 in Brandon.

The Manitoba Dairy and Poultry Co-op sponsored a Cream Competition linked to the Rossburn Agricultural Society. Fifteen entries competed at the Rossburn Creamery on July 12 with high quality cream. Judges Tom Pringle and A Wagner awarded first to Mrs Doug Andrew with 97.80, then Hugh Armstrong 97.75, Mrs A Strilecky 97.70, Carman Brown 97.45, and Sam Brown 97.15.
