Rossburn 58th Annual Agricultural Fair and Sports Day

The Rossburn Fair celebrates its 58th annual event on Tuesday July 18 with classes, prize lists from secretary-treasurer Mrs Elmer Brown, a Four Team Invitation Senior Baseball Tournament, Minor Baseball games, a Midway, and rides. New exhibitors are welcome and posters provide further details.

Allan B Boychuk Earns Master in Civil Engineering at Waterloo

Allan B. Boychuk received a Master of Applied Science in Civil Engineering at the 1967 Spring Convocation at the University of Waterloo Ontario. The specialization was traffic and transportation. He earlier earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba in 1961 and worked for the Manitoba Highways Department from 1961 to 1965. He returned to the department as Special Designer in the Planning and cai doesent.

Provinces 12 Highway Districts Reorganized This Summer

The province reorganizes its highway districts from eight to twelve to improve service for residents and travelers. New district headquarters will be at Selkirk, Main, Brandon, Portage, Minnedosa, Dauphin, Swan River, The Pas, Arborg, and Winnipeg with subdistrict offices in other towns.

Students Leave For Expo 67 Trip from Pelly Trail

About 100 pupils from Pelly Trail School Division depart for a week in Montreal to visit Expo 67. Forty four students from Rossburn Collegiate ride from Rossburn at 4:00 a.m. aboard Harry Drosdoski’s bus and two cars to Rivers for CN trains. They plan extensive time at Expo and return Saturday July 15.

Winners listed for Rossman Lake Bingo June 26

The Rossman Lake Game and Fish Bingo drew several winners including Millicent Sadwchuk, Mrs. Ronald Hamilton, Mrs. Joe Fiel, John Spilchuk, and Mrs. Les Hamilton with prizes from 2.00 to 10.00. A second Jackpot Bingo is planned for later in the month after a previous misprint announced a Monday Lake event.

Pony Express passes Erickson on route to Brandon Exhibition

The Dauphin to Brandon Pony Express stopped at Erickson on Monday July 3 for the Provincial Exhibition opening in Brandon. It visited the Post Office and collected a letter from Mayor E Turner to be delivered to Mayor Magnacca of Brandon. It gathered a letter from each post office along the route.

Angusville Centennial Baseball Tourney to Open Sunday

Angusville hosts its Centennial Baseball Tournament on Sunday July 23 starting at 10:00 a.m. with prize money for top four finishers and attractions including airplane rides and a Midway. The official opening of the R. M. of Silver Creek and Angusville Park is at 2:00 p.m. Plan to attend.

Waterworks Approved in Angusville Improvement Area

Ratepayers in the unincorporated village of Angusville voted on Monday June 26 to approve a by-law for a water distribution and sewage system in the local improvement area. Over 80 percent turnout with 60 for and 27 against. project estimated at 104000 dollars financed over twenty years by debentures.
