Veitch, Fredrick of Muskoka, dies after illness
Fredrick Veitch a prominent Muskoka resident died at Bracebridge Memorial Hospital on Friday June 23 after a long illness aged 76. He was born in Winchester Ontario and moved to Manitoba then Muskoka in 1928. He leaves his wife Sasha May Finch, son William of Willowdale and sister Mrs A E McDonald of Edmonton. Funeral service was held Monday at Reynolds Funeral Home with Rev Douglas Muir conducting at Bracebridge United Church. Interment followed at Ufford Cemetery. Pallbearers were his cousins Harvey David Cecil Edson Arnold and Ross Veitch.

The Rossburn Game and Fish Association held a Bingo at Fish Lake on June 28 and netted $104.50. Rev Oliver Hodge Inducted at Trinity United Church Portage
Rev Oliver Hodge was formally inducted as minister of Trinity United Church in Portage during last Monday evening services. Rev E McDonald led the ceremony with Rev J L Fargey of MacGregor assisting. Hodge previously served the Oakland High Bluff charge and is a MacGregor native. A post service gathering welcomed Rev and Mrs Hodge and daughter Maureen with lunch served by the Associate Society.
