Rossburn W A Monthly Meeting Report
The regular Rossburn W A meeting in the annex opened with Hymn 249. Mrs McIntosh read scripture, Mrs Williamson gave the devotional, and minutes were approved. Fair Day meals were set at 75 cents for a full course, noon and supper served, with surprise teas through September.

Friends Say Farewell to Janet Large in Rossburn
A gathering at Jean Armstrong's home Thursday bade farewell to Janet Large who leaves Rossburn for England after a three year stay. Avis Stitt gave an antique white heirloom bedspread from Rossburn Hospital staff and Jean Armstrong added a purse from local friends. Fifty guests enjoyed lunch and a chorus of For She's A Jolly Good Fellow as Janet thanked everyone and invited visits in England.

Rossburn Credit Union Society Directors Meet
The Rossburn Credit Union Society Board met on July 10th and approved six new members. The Credit Committee reported 33 loans totaling 21000 with 10 extensions totaling 4723 and 1 real estate loan refusal. Up to June 30th 1961 there were 201 members with savings of 41374.00. The next meeting is August 14th 1961.

Loan Approved For Shoal Lake Sewage Treatment Project
The Federal government approved a 32 277 loan to the Village of Shoal Lake Manitoba under the National Housing Act for a 20 year term at 5 38 percent annual interest. The project includes a sewage pumping station six inch forceman 4 800 feet long and a stabilization pond as part of an overall pollution elimination plan.

Rossburn Fair Planned With 52nd Annual Event
The Rossburn Fair and Sports on Tuesday July 18 marks the 52nd annual event. Russ Gurr and his Orchestra headline a 2:30 p.m. grandstand show and the evening dance at the Rossburn Town Hall. A four team senior baseball tournament features Angusville vs Strathclair and Rossburn vs Foxwarren with a 6:30 p.m. final. Midway rides by Midwest Shows and a Rossburn Vista youth baseball exhibition add family entertainment. Admission is 50 cents adults 25 cents for ages 6 16, a cost saving vs neighboring fairs.

4-H Rally at Shoal Lake Highlights Club Entries
The H Sewing and Calf Clubs of Rossburn led by their members attended the 4-H Rally at Shoal Lake on Monday. The Sewing Club earned Red Ribbon for their parade entry with Gloria Kostesky taking 3rd in Project 2 judging. Janet Johnston won 5th in dairy, Judy Huston 6th in beef, Colleen Lazaruk and Sandra Aylwin earned yellow ribbons in junior demonstration, while Muriel Ducharme and Shirley Kolosky earned blue ribbons in senior demonstration.
