Lost Clothes Forrester Ranger in Bush Flood

Forest Ranger on inspection north of town loses his clothes during flood while crossing a series of creeks. He ties clothes to his saddle to swim the mule across and finally reaches a farm house with other clothing. Mule and original garments status unclear.

The Faithful Dog

A dog guarding a high pair of overshoes near the road three miles east of town drew police attention. The shoes were intact and no owner or witnesses could be found. The dog followed the car to town then lost interest with a howl. Anyone knowing about the dog in the last four to five days should notify The Review or police.

Co-Operative Elevator District Convention Delights Members

The Co-Operative Elevator District Convention drew 140 attendees with 135 staying for the banquet. Eight associations reported on local progress and social and financial advances. Mr McConnell spoke on income tax of pools with thorough, clear Federal tax explanation. Speeches were brief and to the point. The meeting adjourned for a banquet at six and reconvened at 7 20 for the evening session. A final vote of thanks ended the gathering.

Mears Herald Briefs and Local Notes

Mr Frank Maydowik underwent an appendix operation at Rossburn hospital last Monday and is now home improving daily. Miss Gertie Conley travels to London for a short vacation. A few men from Clear Lake are installing a telephone in the National Park. Heavy rain caused river overflow and several bridges to break down. Nick Odgisky has completed teaching duties and left for home. The June 26 show at Mears hall was cancelled due to bad roads but will be rescheduled once roads are repaired. Born to Mr and Mrs Alex Komber a daughter at Rossburn hospital.
