Rossburn Elementary 7th Science Fair Highlights
Rossburn Elementary showcased 140 projects viewed by an estimated 300 to 400 residents. Twenty judges including local volunteers assessed entries across grades K to 6, with Lions Club and staff support enabling prizes and organization. Winners spanned individual and group categories across multiple grades, from bears and seeds to solar system and prehistoric life.

January Temperature Swings Mark Week of Mild to Cold

At a Lions Club meeting a call went out for toys in good condition for the Rossburn Hospital Children’s Ward. The club will pick up toys. donate by calling 859 2671 between 6 and 7 pm.

Orthodox Ladies Elect Officers At 1976 Meeting
The Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Women’s Organization held its annual meeting January 24 1976 at 1 PM at Phyllis Kurchaba’s home with fifteen members present. Officers for 1976 were elected led by President Emily Tanasychuk and included Mary Lowtis, Rose Nychuk and Phyllis Kurchaba among others. An Easter Tea and Bake Sale was planned for April 17 in Rossburn Town Hall basement and the next meeting set for April 8 at Ann Belbas’s home.

The January 15 1976 Village of Rossburn meeting adopts provisional operating and capital expenditure estimates for 1976 including general government services and recreation. It authorizes a $200 per acre offer for lagoon land, appoints Alice Lindsay to the Rossburn Regional Library Board, and sets 1976 town hall rental rates the same as 1975.
