The North Central All-Star Game will be played at Miniota on Saturday January 24 at 8 00 p m Western Division All-Star Team features goalies Delbert Cole and Billy Martin along with players from Miniota Elkhorn Russell Birtle and other towns.
John and Janet Foster of CBC Toronto filmed in Riding Mountain National Park during 1975. The film will air on CBC TV at 8 00 P M Wednesday January 26 1976 as part of This Land series.

A Snake Creek League Midget Hockey game is set for Saturday January 24 at 8 30 p m in Rossburn Arena. Foxwarren A faces Foxwarren B with three Rossburn players on Foxwarren B. both teams tied for first.
Booster Club Winner No 400 Ernie Antonow wins 10.00. Hockey Pool winners include Bill Antonow and Debbie Danyluk each awarded 10.00. Match Saturday January 17 features Strathclair versus Rossburn Hornets.
The Birtle Health Unit Area announces two new workers from the Manitoba Department of Health and Social Development, Bernie Jones and Bill Christie, based at Birtle Hospital. Jones handles Community Mental Health Services across Birtle, Russell, Ellice, Shoal Lake and Birdtail River School Division with counseling and education duties. Christie oversees Community Mental Retardation Services from Russell to Sandy Lake and MinotA to Oak River, urging families to seek help and noting urgent needs for foster homes for retarded children and adults.
The Silver Creek Municipality opens the year with a projected small rise in municipal tax levy to cover higher road maintenance costs from increased heavy traffic. The year’s officers include Reeve J. Katchin, Deputy Reeve R D Tibbatts, and Finance Committee members J Katchin W J Kalyniak and R A Rowland.
The Rural Municipality of Rossburn held its first 1976 meeting on January 12 with Reeve John Mitchell presiding. Council approved minutes from December 1975 and discussed school levy changes, surveying Rossman Lake Resort, and drawing policies for the Rossman Lake areas. They also approved provisional operating and capital estimates for 1976 and decided to add outstanding patrol and MHS C accounts to taxes where applicable.
The Department of Agriculture will hold a one day training session in Rossburn on February 4 in the Library Reading Room to demo Version II Canfarm record system. Farmers send monthly data to the Guelph computer center and receive sixteen reports including income tax and equity analysis. The 1976 Canfarm fee is 35 dollars and more dates will be announced in the paper.
Miss Etta Snow, a United Church missionary to Angola, spoke at United Church events in Rossburn and addressed Grades 7 and 8. She described Angola’s post colonial health and education crises, the civil war, UNITA control areas, and the Dondi Institute effort to train leaders and support basic living skills amid ongoing conflict.
