Gala Dance and Box Social Friday Night Bolsters Hospital Drive

Rossburn Hospital tightens visiting rules to immediate relatives only to protect patient rest. Nurses will enforce on doctor orders. Community donations are welcome with a severe need for babies shirts gowns and adult nightgowns as the hospital appeals for clothing for infants and patients.

Soloist Bernard Johnson Guests On CBC Hour In January

Canadian baritone Bernard Johnson will be guest soloist on CBC Hour Monday January 24 with Paul Sherman and the Northern Electric Concert Orchestra. The broadcast originates from the Canadian network. A Rossburn town hall public meeting about a closed-inlink yielded two committee meetings. Dr. W. A. Shaver was named president, with E. Moffat vice president and O R Hodge secretary. Funds talks followed. several donations were received and more to be listed later. A box social and dance was set for January 28 at Rossburn Town Hall to raise funds for a memorial winter sports arena.

Donations to Hospital Acknowledged by Board

The Hospital Board acknowledges with appreciation various donations from individuals and the Co-Op Store including cash, food, blankets, garments, jams, meats, fruit, and a turkey for Xmas. Reminiscences of Rossborn Pioneers Chapter 16 Continued

The piece traces early Rossborn lodges from 1887 Orangemen meetings at J.J. Stitt to lodge moves on the Ross farm and the old school site. It notes charter members of the Orange lodge, the 1928 L.O.B.A. Easter Lily Lodge founders, then Odd Fellows charter members of 1915. School Hi Lites previews a Friday dance at Rossburn Town Hall with novelty and spot dances and a box social to aid the Rossburn Memorial Skating Rink. Curling scores to appear next week. Hockeys season opener at Angusville ended with a lopsided Rossburn win after 65 points.
