Game and Fish Association names Dave Cleland as president. Secretary Otto Elvers and members H Dros doski M Slow and L McMillan join the committee. The meeting adjourned after a film presentation.
The Loyal Orange Lodge held a social evening at the Legion Hall on Tuesday. Chairman Laird Duncanson led the program with talks by J Stitt and Pollock, plus films by Stitt. A Whist Drive produced winners Mrs Hutton, Mrs J G Stitt, Bill Mitchell, and Spencer Taylor. Miss Finlay provided music and a launch was served.
The Benito 4-H Garden Club won the T Eat on Co Shield for top proficiency in Manitoba in 1955. E. W. Somers announced the result after judging 115 clubs with 1,560 members. The Benito club, formed in 1950, had 41 members with 39 completing the year under Mrs. R. S. Coutts assisted by David Banks and Eddie Lyons.
A new pamphlet titled Farm Fire Fighting lists suitable extinguishers for farm fires and their uses. It covers operating tips, smothering methods, and notes water as the cheapest effective option, though not for flammable liquids or electrical equipment.
The Village of Rossburn council met Tuesday evening with Mayor Moffat presiding and all members present. One Municipal assistance application was received and deferred temporarily. The year ending December 1 1955 financial statement showed a near record surplus. Bills were passed for payment before adjournment.

The Rossburn team led by Mary Klym with Viola Stitt Anne Drosdoski and Ann Hamilton defeated Margaret Cleland to represent Rossburn in the Strathclair curling playdowns on Wednesday. Strathclair beat Foxwarren 18 to 3 while Binscarth edged Strathclair in a separate match and Birtle won 8-6 over Russell. final district championship matchup pending the Strathclair winner clash with either Binscarth or Birtle.
Mr and Mrs Mike Deydey of Glen Elmo are the proud parents of a son born January 12 at Rossburn Hospital marking the first baby of 1956 for the hospital.
The January Vista W I meeting hosted by Mrs Wilma Nickel had 14 members and one visitor. Mrs Joan Brown spoke on England coming to Canada. A Whist Drive and Dance was planned for Friday January 20 at Community Hall. Lunch was served by Mrs Nickel and Mrs Chesney. The next meeting will be at Mrs Ruth Rogers home on February 9.

Rossburn roared from an early 3-1 deficit to defeat Lavinia Hamita 9-5 before about 200 hometown fans. Wilf Shayman opened for Lavinia, Don Hawkins and Jerry Reid extended the lead, then Stitt and Strank added for Rossburn. Final score 9-5 with strong defense and no extra Rossburn bruises. penalties to Miller and Knight.
Erickson Rossburn defeated Rolling River 7 to 4 at Erickson on Monday night. Delays due to road conditions pushed Rossburn arrival to 9:00 p.m. The Ro llburns led 1 1 after the first period, held a 3 2 edge in the second, and Rossburn pulled away with 5 goals to 1 in the third for the final 7 4 victory.
Rossburn defeated Inglis 7-4 as Robin Huston scored twice and Brian Kowal led with four goals. The game tied 2-2 after the first period, Rossburn pulled ahead 6-3 by second, and a late third period tally by Arthur Pritchard completed the scoring with Bruce Kowal in goal.
