Rossburn defeated Ellyn 10 to 9 in a tight opener at Angusville Arena on Tuesday Jan 8. Secee scored five of ten goals while Maesk netted two and Strank Tronrud and Lewellyn added one each. Rossburn also placed third in the North Western Bonspiel Grand Challenge at Foxwarren, winning silverware after ten games.

A hit and run on Lindsay Ontario’s main street led to a police chase. The pursuing chief of police in a cruiser tried to close the gap as the suspect darted across railroad tracks ahead of an oncoming train and forced a sudden braking stop.

High School Bonspiel Trip Brings Curling Tips
Eight boys from the High School attended the Winnipeg Bonspiel and won one game each. They toured the Amphi theatre game, a Variety Concert, and a lunch hosted by T Eaton Co. Elwyn McFeeters and Leslie Taylor spoke with Manitoba curler Ken Watson. The trip yielded useful curling tips and a worthwhile experience. The student council plans a dance and a yearbook, seeking broad student support.
