A surprise 25th wedding anniversary was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Geo Berzanski on December 23 with many friends and relatives in attendance. Mr and Mrs Peter Rubeniuk of Grand Rapids Man were attendants. An electric vidian and cover gift was given. A money gift was collected from friends and relatives. Congratulations.

Kindergarten Concert Recap December 1961
Fundraising at the kindergarten concert raised 30 dollars in silver at the door. Thanks are given to Mrs. Brown for costumes and to Miss Fox for stepping in as Master of Ceremonies with Grade I singing. Santa distributed candy bags to preschoolers.

Death notice for Alex Gerelus in Elphinstone area
Alex Gerelus died suddenly at his home in Elphinstone on Sunday December 17 at age 58. He was born in Western Ukraine and moved to Canada in 1913 with his parents, later settling in Leech and then Elphinstone. He is survived by two brothers Steve and John and two sisters Mary Smith and Anne Gibson. Funeral with Ukrainian Greek Catholic rites was held December 23 in Elphinstone with interment in the same church cemetery. Rev. V. Olech officiated. pallbearers named. Rae's Funeral Home arranged.

Funeral Rites For Roy Irwin
Roy A. Irwin died after a brief illness on December 12 at St Boniface Hospital. Born November 2, 1897 at Rossburn, he served in the first Great War and a period with the occupation army in Germany. He worked for the Rock Island Railway in Joliet, then returned to Rossburn to run a garage. Funeral held December 16 at Rossburn United Church with Minister Ferguson presiding. Pallbearers were Wes Williamson, Herb Taylor, Billy Armstrong, Jack Stitt, Dave Clel, and Murray Hryciuk. He leaves a brother Jim in North Surrey BC and sisters Olive Kelso Roblin and Hazel Milnes Winnipeg, plus many friends.
