First Hockey Game Opens Rossburn Memorial Arena
About three hundred spectators attended the opener between St. Lazare and Rossburn in Rossburn Memorial Arena. St. Lazare won 5 3 as Foul lliard scored twice and Cliff Williams tied late. Rossburn goals came from Gib Chesney with two and Williams. Goalskeepers Stitt and Fouilliard starred as locals led 2 1 after two periods before a late rally sealed the visitors’ win.

Mysterious 1878 Bell Found Near Rainy Lake Inquiries
A border resident near Rainy Lake Ontario reports a four inch bronze bell dated 1878 with the inscription chinteal fondeur and rosettes. Fur buyer George Stoffels found it 27 years ago and wonders about its origin. similar bells have appeared in Minnesota and Oregon. Vista resident Hugh Armstrong brings a bell matching descriptions to the Review office seeking its history and value.

Local rink wins top honors at Binscarth spiel
C Johannesson B Rogers Jas Lillie and John Carson led a five 8 end run to take first in the main event at Binscarth Bonspiel beating Bray of Binscarth Wossen of Binscarth Breckenridge of Inglis Birbeck of Binscarth and Loney of Russell in a one day competition on February 19. The local rink collected four miniature silver trophies. The squad returned home tired but happy after the long day of curling.
