Rossburn Rural Council approves December financials and grants
The Rossburn Rural Council approves the December year end and January 1961 financial report. It accepts an $80 cash offer for S W 1/4 Section 31 Twp 21 Age 24 from Lawrence Kuzenko, with purchaser paying title costs and fence arrangements. Ukrainian Catholic Women's League Activities Note
Since their December annual meeting the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Oakburn has run funeral lunches and dinners for Mrs. A Antonation and W Lasuita, held dances on January 9 and 20, and an Epiphany supper on January 18 with strong attendance. A donation of $15 to Shoal Lake Hospital was made along with another $15 toward a local cause.
Successful Hospital Aid Bingo Monday
The Rossburn Hospital Aid thanks supporters for a successful Bingo on Monday and acknowledges a $25 donation from the Ukrainian Ladies Aid. Proceeds were 72.50 with numerous winners receiving gifts such as Dicer, Tea Pot, Grocery Hamper, Perfume, and more. next meeting February 28 at Mrs Isabel Huston’s home.

In Rossburn Arena Monday, Rossburn Intermediates beat Elkhorn 7-4. Score tied 2-2 after the first period, 5-4 at halftime, with Rossburn scoring two unanswered third period goals. Rossburn played short-handed 18 minutes, drawing 9 penalties to 3 for Elkhorn. Kowal and Paul Strank each scored twice for Rossburn. Fraser led Elk horn with two goals. assists credited to Huston, Paul Strank, S. Strank, Stewart, Kowal, Parabec. This win marks Rossburn’s third straight in C competition, outscoring opponents 24–13.

The Ukr Women’s Association branch at Oakburn met February 9 at the Ukr Nat Home with about 19 of 40 members present and 8 guests. The Third Annual All-Indian Tournament at Elphin Stone Arena drew 1036 fans as Assiniboia Indian School defeated Bosco Indians 13-9 in the final to claim the Sharkosky Shield. Bosco previously beat Griswold 7-4 and eliminated higher seeds, while Griswold beat Pipestone 4-1 and Portage Res 8-2.
