Oakburn Home and School Meeting Highlights PTA Delegates
The Oakburn Home and School Association met January 31 in the school auditorium with 53 members. Mr M Shwaluk led with O Canada as delegates from Manitoba reported on the Trustees Convention. Delegates were chosen for the 18th annual PTA Convention in Winnipeg. The next meeting is February 21. A dance by the association is February 10 at the Oakburn Ukrainian National Home with Sunset Valley Boys.

Funeral Rites Held For Benjamin Cormack Of Rossburn
Benjamin Cormack of Rossburn Manitoba died recently after a long life. He was born in Caithness Scotland and moved to Canada in 1892. He farmed in the Rossburn District until 1944 and served fifty seven years with the Canadian Order of Forresters Court Rossburn, secretary for forty five years. He married Margaret Douglas in 1907 who died in 1950. Surviving are daughter Emelia, son Douglas, three sisters, and two brothers. Funeral held January 30 at United Church with COF members in attendance. interment in Rossburn Cemetery. Rae's Funeral Home, Shoal Lake, in charge.

Successful Bingo At Town Hall Draws Winners
A February 1 bingo event in the town hall basement, sponsored by the C O F, thanked all attendees. Prizes included ham to Mrs G Heindle and Mr J Smith, plus assorted items such as cake savers, ash trays, teapots, and towels awarded to numerous residents and donors.

The 8th annual Rossburn Credit Union Society meeting took place in Rossburn Town Hall on Friday at 8:00 p m. Seventy people attended, with 47 new members joining in 1960 bringing total to 184. Assets rose to 51380.97 and loans issued reached 65868.90. A 4 percent dividend and 20 percent rebate on interest were approved.
